In the escrow profession, we are seeing an ever changing market. No one really knows what or who to believe about our market and what will come in the months ahead. So we escrow professionals must just forge ahead and do what we can to stay on top of things, generate business and try to keep everyone happy in our transactions (which are becoming harder to do because of the lender fallout and subsequent problems associated with the fallout and the Buyers being able to qualify for loans.) We are dealing with a lot of lender and business closures and changes on a daily basis, as well as the ever present fraud issues in our files. Escrow must keep an eye and ear out for every possible situation that could possibly be a future claim We must be suspicious of nonconforming situations and be able to ask very specific and touchy questions without offending our client(s). Those who've been in the business years have seen things slow down like this before, others that are newer to the business are just amazed that the brakes came on so hard and so quickly (it really wasn't overnight, but it seemed that way).
During these challenging times, we must take the opportunity to keep educating ourselves. Central Valley Escrow Association is committed to bringing you informational sessions that will help you to succeed at your desk while avoiding possible claims.

Take the opportunity to learn more about Title issues, including easements, endorsements, policies, problem areas, etc. Take the time to call or email me or Sara Rogers any questions you would like to have addressed about title and will will pass them on to our title panel that will be speaking at the upcoming meeting. It should be a very informative meeting and one you can't afford to miss.
I know most companies are no longer paying for you to attend these meetings. However, this is education you will need in your career as an escrow professional and you must make the time for commitment to better your knowledge at every opportunity while supporting your local association.
I hope to see you all at the meeting. Thank you. Donna Aznavoorian Your 2007 CVEA President (559) 497-3307
